Belknap Collection, Popular Performers 1907- : Florenz Ziegfeld. 1907-1958.

Music, programs and press clippings for The Ziegfeld Follies and other Ziegfeld productions are gathered in this collection. Most of the material dates from 1907 to 1958, but there is a program for the 1987 production of Harry Fielding's Ziegfeld staring Topol and the 1999 production of "Ziegfeld Follies of 1936: A national institution, glorifying the American Girl". Many famous performers and songwriters are featured including Billie Burke, Eddie Arnold, Fred Astaire, Lucille Ball, Milton Berle, Fannie Brice, Noël Coward, Judy Garland, George Gershwin, Ira Gershwin, Oscar Hammerstein, Lena Horne, Jerome Kern, Beatrice Lilly, Myrna Loy, William Powell, and Esther Williams. Most of the materials are for New York theatres, but some touring programs are included.
